Filing this per this ANI discussion. The accounts in question were confirmed on frwiki by CUs as being the same account, but since it's not clear if that's sufficient for enwiki, I'm putting in an official case.

The overlapping interests are pretty telling--not just colonialism and indigenous peoples, but films about those issues, and sensationalized topics that are often parts of such films (e.g., cannibalism, scalping). The userpages are laid out in similar manners, and their edit summary styles are the same (usually a single word, and they both use the same words: "cite",[1][2] "expand",[3][4] "add",[5][6] etc.).

Here's a classic "oops, I meant to do this under my other account" moment, since the DTMGO account had never actually edited this article before.[7][8][9]

I haven't done much more digging, since I'm guessing that the frwiki CU work just needs some basic confirmation in order to either apply the frwiki decision to enwiki, or to justify an enwiki-specific checkuser. Grandpallama (talk) 15:31, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

edit

This account was registered on September 17 2023 but only started to edit in June 2024 around two months after their first two accounts were blocked (DTMGO & Magonz). The failed unblock request by Magonz shows their desire to continue editing.

Pegasus34523 editing is identical to previous socks in the pages they edit and manner of editing. The Editor Interaction Analyser shows that the pages Pegasus34523 mostly edits are articles that were created by their socks and were largely only edited by socks:

These five pages were created by the Magonz sock and much of their recent activity is by Pegasus34523. Throughout the history of these pages the vast majority of edits have been by confirmed socks and Pegasus34523.

I'll provide some more specific examples of similarity in editing on these pages. They always uses lowercase in edit summaries just as previous socks. On Historiography of Indigenous genocide they added entries to Further Reading with similar edit summaries: [10], [11]. Another similar example on Apologies to Indigenous peoples: [12], [13]. These two articles also get little traffic.

Pegasus34523 has also edited a fair amount on Spanish language Wikipedia and their only edits are to pages created by Magonz and the pages are translated versions of the articles mentioned above. Both Magonz and DTMGO extensively edit on Spanish Wikipedia and have even done since being blocked on English Wikipedia.

I added Kenton356 which I found whilst making this report. This account has made all 23 of its edits to three of the five pages mentioned above and also only uses lowercase edit summaries and the use of 356 in the usernames is similar to Pegasus34523. This account has also made a number of edits to Spanish Wikipedia where they also largely only edited translated versions of pages created by Magonz or DTMGO. 212.139.171.99 (talk) 13:37, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
